National Public Health Week events in OAKLEY, UTAH, included a five-kilometer race to raise awareness about public health.

More than 200 pre-registered racers as well as many on-site registrants showed up on the cold and slippery Saturday of National Public Health Week. The event also featured a chance to sign a petition to encourage mandated hygiene and health training
in schools. Health advocates were on hand to talk about dental health, insurance and other topics.
At a Salt Lake City race, a visitor signs a petition in support of health training.

The event was primarily sponsored by Outfox Prevention, a company that provides lessons, programs and other materials for schools and organizations on hygiene, and Parents Against School-Based Illness.
