Hello, Teachers!

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a nice, relaxing break before coming back to school. It’s amazing how fast those two weeks can go! It’s also amazing how much your students can forget during the break. While you’re reviewing classroom procedures (can they really forget how to sharpen a pencil in two weeks?!?) make sure to review your hygiene procedures. Hand washing and sanitizing and tissue use are so important in the winter months. Your students need to be reminded!

New Years is a great time for starting over. We all set resolutions in our personal and professional lives. Encourage your students to make resolutions to stay healthy! Now is a great time to talk about ways to keep our minds and bodies in great shape. Spend time discussing healthy food, exercise and hygiene! Set goals as a class to eat a fruit or vegetable with each meal, walk around the playground at recess, or wash hands before and after each meal. As your class continues to get healthy, you will see the benefits of healthy kids and they will really enjoy working on lifelong habits.

Goodbye, germs!
